Crews have removed the scaffolding that covered the bottom floors of One Wall Street, revealing the tower’s ground-level frontage for the first time. The tower’s iconic fluted limestone cladding is mirrored in pleated glass via floor-to-ceiling windows that span the lower floors, creating a modern extension of the building’s stone upper stories where it meets the bustling Downtown sidewalk. The record-breaking office-to-condo conversion from Macklowe Properties will bring a Whole Foods Market and Life Time fitness center as well as 566 luxury condos to the Financial District, all housed behind an updated art-deco facade that takes its cues from the original Irving Trust office tower.
