One Wall Street Gives European Visitors the Neighborhood Tour

Members of the One Wall Street team love to show visitors around the neighborhood — flaunting the sights, heritage, and wonderful bars and restaurants that Lower Manhattan has to offer. Here are some of the highlights of a recent trip, enjoyed by a press crew from Germany, France, England, Italy and Singapore.

A Neighborhood Walking Tour

Though it has always kept pace with the times, Lower Manhattan is rooted in history. Home, of course, to one of the world’s most important financial districts, the neighborhood offers world-class architecture around every corner. You’ll find gems like the South Street Seaport Museum (which tells how NYC was built and shaped by migrants), converted brick warehouses, cobbled streets, not to mention some splendid vistas of the Brooklyn Bridge: one of THE iconic NYC sights.

Lunch at Sant Ambroeus

One of the area’s many superb dining spots, Sant Ambroeus is an exquisitely turned-out Milanese-style coffee bar, where you can indulge in a plate of cacio e pepe (made with 24-month-aged Parmigiano Reggiano). Pair it with a Sant Ambroeus prosecco, and be momentarily transported to Northern Italy.

AIA Boat Tour

NYC reveals another side of itself when explored by boat. Ideal for tourists (and, let’s face it, locals, as well), AIA Boat Tours whisk you out from Chelsea Piers (Pier 62), giving you a fascinating insight into (and a VIP view of) Manhattan’s iconic architecture and infrastructure — from the Statue of Liberty to the exciting new high-rises of Lower Manhattan.

Dinner at Harry’s

Gold-tinged brasserie surroundings await at Harry’s — among the city’s best steakhouses. We always recommend having something cool and tasty at the bar (like a refreshing French 75) before ordering the Blue Point oysters, followed by the legendary bone-in filet mignon. There are few finer places to indulge in top-end NYC cuisine while relaxing and talking over your busy day.

One Wall Street Itself

Of course, no press trip would be complete without a tour of One Wall Street. These Lower Manhattan condos for sale reflect their diverse surroundings; ensconced in landmarked Art Deco architecture, but with everything the modern-day New Yorker could desire. That includes five-fixture ensuite baths, private terraces with expansive views, and an indoor swimming pool way up on the 38th floor. Needless to say, the journalists didn’t want to go back to their hotel.
