Luxury Buildings Take ‘Working From Home’ to the Next Level

As working from home became the norm during the COVID-19 pandemic, developer Harry Macklowe saw an opportunity. Macklowe’s record-breaking One Wall Street office-to-residential conversion was already under construction in 2020, and, according to a piece in the New York Times, the legendary developer beefed up the building’s coworking space in anticipation of a wave of demand from professionals whose jobs were soon to keep them home most days out of the year. The result is One Works, a spacious coworking amenity located inside One Wall Street that’s decked out with state-of-the-art technology like podcasting booths and high-definition teleconferencing cameras aimed at giving professionals the tools they need to get their work done from the comfort and safety of their own building.
